Marketing Major Alexis Lakers Serves Her Internship in the Office of Student Activities
|
Every student who graduates from the College of Business Administration is required to complete an internship. Alexis Lakers is serving her internship in the Texas A&M-Kingsville Office of Student Activities as a marketing assistant. As a marketing major, Alexis is also president of the Javelina Marketing Association. Her duties this summer are to create a logo for the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, present at freshman and transfer orientation, research and assist in the development of Student Organization Review Board policies and procedures and to organize a Student Activities outline which will be utilized during freshman class presentations. With a background in art, the logo is her favorite project. She researched conceptual elements relevant to Hispanic heritage for the logo and is receiving valuable training in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in this internship. "I hope to reap the reward of being able to see my designs placed all around campus," Alexis said. She also hopes that the Javelina Marketing Association can be utilized by other campus organizations to create logos and designs for them.
