Gerardo's Meat Market Opens as a Result of Assistance from the JOB Program

Gerardo's Meat Market was one of the first businesses in Kingsville to benefit from the JOB Program, a community partnership with the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce, the Kleberg County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Del Mar College Small Business Resource Center, The Kingsville Community Federal Credit Union and the College of Business Administration. The logo was designed by Javelina Marketing Club student Brittney Soliz. "The Meat Market has already created three new jobs in our community," said Armando A. Martinez, KCFCU President and CEO.
Texas A&M-Kingsville honors future leaders for Who's Who recognition

The 2013-2014 edition o
f Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges includes the names of 150 students from Texas A&M University-Kingsville who were selected as outstanding campus leaders. The students and their families were honored at a program held recently.  Read more.

A Moment with an Expert

The Office of Marketing and Communications maintains a list of campus experts that provide answers for the media on more than 200 different topics. These are faculty and staff who have volunteered to be "on call" when needed. Among those experts is Adria Vasquez, an accounting lecturer in the College of Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  She has worked at Texas A&M-Kingsville since 2009. Vasquez is a Certified Public Accountant and a partner in the firm of Palacios and Palacios, P.C. She was recently named Outstanding Accounting Educator by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA); this past summer, she was named a Rising Star by the group. Read more

Celeste Pollock Joins the CBA Team As Internship and Career Placement Coordinator

The College of Business Administration welcomes our new internship and career placement coordinator, Celeste Pollock. As a double alumna of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance. Pollock has extensive experience with the university, having been a staff member since 2002.

As a student, she maintained a 4.0 GPA in the college of Education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society and has been active in numerous regional and national professional organizations aimed at student affairs and financial aid professionals.

Her experience working directly with students is a decisive asset and will serve our students well.  Please join us in welcoming Celeste to the CBA team!

Faculty Highlights
  • Dr. Thomas Krueger, professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance, has been named as an Internal Advisory Board member for the Eagle Ford Center for Research, Education and Outreach (EFCREO) recently established by Texas A&M University-Kingsville Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering.
  • Dr. John Cicala's paper, "Does Transparency Influence the Ethical Behavior of Salespeople?", was accepted for publication in Journal of Business Research, one of the top three journals in Marketing, with an acceptance rate of 5-10%. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems.  
  • Dr. Paul Holt's article,"Earnings Quality as Measured by Predictability of Reported Earnings," was published in "Advances in Business Research". He is a professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance.
