Three CBA Faculty Receive Research Recognition

Several CBA faculty have received accolades this month in research. The paper titled, "The Market Structure Dynamics Created by De-bundling of Airline Bag Fees" by Dr. Hans Schumann (left) and Lecturer Harmeet Singh (right), was awarded with the Distinguished Research Award for presentation at the Academy of Economics and Economic Education hosted by Allied Academies' Fall 2013 International Conference in San Antonio on October 10, 2013. Finance professor, Dr. Thomas Krueger (right), received the "Best Research" award at the Scholar Global Alliance's Mustang International Academic Conference that was held from October 24-26, in Dallas, Texas. Presentations are made by business faculty in all CBA disciplines, in a format wherein attendees hear about the research being conducted across business disciplines. Krueger's study, titled "Paying for Acceptance? A Study of Academic Management Journals," was chosen as the best among 60 papers invited to present at the conference. Read more.

Dean Delcoure Reaches Out to Sunrise Rotary

Dr. Natalya Delcoure, Dean of the College of Business Administration, visited with members of the Kingsville Sunrise Rotary Club on Thursday, November 14. In the last four months, faculty, students and staff have made an impressive progress towards the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation. Her presentation highlighted faculty extensive expertise and students and faculty current engagement in many projects serving the Kingsville community. Dr. Delcoure shared faculty excitement and readiness to broaden their community outreach. She encouraged members to contact college faculty for needed assistance with their businesses.

College of Business Administration Alumna and Texas Agency President Scott Wins PRSA's 2013 Paul M. Lund Public Service Award
|  PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 28, 2013) - The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has awarded its 2013 Paul M. Lund Public Service Award to the founding principal and president of Kailo Communications Studio, Carol A. Scott, APR, Fellow PRSA. The award, presented today at the PRSA International Conference in Philadelphia, is given annually to a PRSA member whose public service has benefited his or her community and reflected positively on PRSA. CBA Student Eliu Cazares Presents at the ACBSP Conference on "Learning in the Digital Age"

Eliu Cazares, accounting major, was the Student Showcase Presenter at the ACBSP region 6 Southwestern Council of Business Schools and Programs 2013 Fall Conference that was held on November 8 at the Drury Plaza Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. His presentation topic was "Learning in the Digital Age: Perspectives from an Engaged Student," which shared what a student experiences in today's digital age. He has been invited to present at the national conference in Chicago this coming spring.
