TEALarbor stories'
mission is to compassionately support people as they discover & convey through writing their deepest stories.

Greetings!

The calendar signals that the onset of autumn is still a few weeks away. But the natural world already bears signs that the progression of fall has begun: cool breezes after a warm summer hiatus; darkness creeping into the edges of the day; once bright-green foliage now a dark olive hue or a faded light green that promises to become yellow.

It's important to notice these subtle, repetitive transitions outside; they are nature's way of reminding us to wake up and embrace the small changes in our lives. We can live these stories on any ordinary day just by paying attention, accepting, and settling deeply into what is

I detailed how this happened for me in a recent blog post. When I paid attention to nature's repeated image of saltwater, I remembered the ebb and flow of my own life, the greater interconnection with all beings, and how necessary these recognitions are toward sustainable peace and compassion on the planet.

New things continue to unfold at TEALarbor storiesIn the boxes below, be sure to check out: an in-service for mediators, autumn workshops, a Whidbey Institute spring retreat!, links to videos and interviews, course updates, and other emerging projects.

Blessings,
Jennifer Wilhoit, Writing Mentor, Guide, Mediator

 Stories: Nature Repeats,
Written & Lived
We are connected to nature. When we get still and listen deeply, we will receive what it is being offered. We can use these gifts as insight and practice for better living.

Here's one way to do so:

Identify something in nature that you have repeatedly noticed in the past week (i.e., windy days, the brightly shining crescent moon, a particular animal, fallen feathers). Write down the repeated natural phenomenon. Spend a few minutes journaling to explore how nature's repetition relates to something present in your own life. Trust that the message you received will help you.

Please email to learn more about how TEALarbor stories can support you as you move forward with your writing projects, as you traverse a life transition, or as you face a difficult situation of conflict.

News & Updates
New workshops and offerings are scheduled and on their way to you as listed in the box above and detailed on the website

A filmmaker in Seattle has expressed interest in interviewing me for her cable network docu-series; she wants to learn more about the convergence of technology and creativity in TEALarbor stories' work.

The local community center has asked me to offer TEALarbor stories' deep storying and inner/outer landscape work in their lovely new space adjacent to a forested natural area replete with pileated woodpeckers.

I have accepted the invitation to write a guest essay for inclusion in the first published volume of one of the co-founders of a nature-based leadership institute.

I've been invited to write guest posts for blogs focused on hospice service and gratitude.

Click here to read the Kindness Communication blog interview about how TEALarbor stories understands writing and listening as kind, ecological acts.

I've developed my online course, A Natural History of Compassion, for the Charter for Compassion's Education Institute (CEI). This has inspired me to begin development of a broader curriculum reflective of TEALarbor stories' practices and values. Please keep an eye on the News page for updates. (Courses for CEI will be gradually introduced over time to best serve the needs of our global audience.)

The Windows Within Project's interview with me about hospice service work is here. It's dated 2/1/16 and is entitled, "Jennifer Wilhoit & Discovering the Natural Landscape of Death & Dying..."
