TEALarbor stories'
mission is to compassionately support people as they discover & convey through writing their deepest stories.

Greetings!

I sit here composing this newsletter amidst thirty-mph winds. I was hiking on a local trail when this uproar began; the falling limbs and pine boughs cascaded from high above, creating a vertical debris field through which we carefully picked our way. The roads are strewn with twigs, branches, and pine sprigs; road closures are increasing due to fallen trees. Bald eagles appear to hover overhead as air currents lift them higher rather than propel them forward. The weather is turning, and this storm is the season's herald.

Out my office window is a lovely cherry tree, each day more gorgeously decorated with light pink blossoms. Buds, shoots, and florets whisper the promise of the deciduous world's return to full glory. The rains are warmer now, in this place of constant moisture. Days lengthen, almost reaching a time when light catches up with the darkness before taking its turn at the forefront.

The spring equinox has nearly arrived and all I can think about is blessed opportunity, awakening beauty, the rush of spring waters feeding land and soul.

I urge you to consider what is fresh and new in your life. To what opening are you turning - inwardly or outwardly?

Don't forget to check out the box below with workshops (details on the website). We had a beautiful time in Suquamish for the writing workshop a few weeks ago. And, there are a lot more offerings coming to the PNW this year; the next one is in just a few weeks, so please consider registering for the Writing for the Spring Equinox workshop on 3/26.

May you open in beauty, writing or walking through the gift of your life...

Blessings,
Jennifer Wilhoit, Writing Mentor, Guide, Mediator

TEALarbor stories' newsletters offer inspiration, encouragement, & beauty; inform about the connection between story, the natural world, & all things writerly; & promote professional writing, guiding, & mediation services.
 Stories:  Blooming, Written & Lived
At the heart of TEALarbor stories' work is this interconnection between inner and outer landscapes. Writing is informed by it; life is enhanced by it.

This is why these newsletters so often contain words, images, ideas, and practices that encourage us to look at this rich interface. My passionate calling is to support people's deep processes: writing projects; traversing difficult life transitions; making peace; finding strength, healing, and inspiration in natural landscapes.

As you begin to notice the natural world waking up around you, what can you find within you that is also becoming conscious? What writing project do you hold as a tight bud, awaiting a bit more warmth and welcome to unfurl? What difficulty are you ready to release to the blowing winds? What within you could use some nourishment in order to really blossom?

Please email to learn more about how TEALarbor stories can support you as you move forward with your writing projects, as you traverse a life transition, or as you face a difficult situation of conflict.

Announcements
Abundant congratulations to another sweet client who has just completed a superb draft of a manuscript! I'm very eager to read it beginning to end, which will be my privilege very soon. Our weekly meetings have been full of vigor and creativity; the palpable aesthetic which I associate with this person has lived within me in between our sessions. This writer claims this will be the only thing s/he writes, so it is with an abiding embrace that I receive the book. Despite losses, full-time employment, and a very rich life (not uncharacteristic of most of my clients), this writer has birthed a book which has grown from the middle outward to a solid, complete story. This book reflects, as a crystal clear mirror, the beautiful inner life of the author as well as the tasty richness of a culture and environment with which most of us are unfamiliar. To my dear one, so many blessings! I sit in deep gratitude for your trust in me - but even more so for listening deeply to your inner guide.

News & Updates
The writing workshop I offered through Sound Spirit in mid-February was a wonderful experience. Click here to read more.

I've been asked to present my work again this year at the Association for Dispute Resolution of Northern California's Annual Conference on March 19th at the University of San Francisco. I'm excited to offer "Transforming Conflict, Transforming Lives: Re-writing & Re-rooting Stories."

The Tulpehaking Nature Center in Hamilton, New Jersey has invited me to write a piece for their Questions for a Tree Project, a collaborative community endeavor combining visual art, viewer-derived questions for a tree, and the written word. My and others' writing will be recited at a benefit in late April, close to Arbor Day; the event will celebrate trees and the natural world.

My online course for the Charter for Compassion's Education Institute is fully drafted. Once it has been reviewed, CEI will schedule itA Natural History of Compassion: Growing Tenderness for Self and Other via Writing and Ecology will be accessible to an international audience already eagerly participating in the first institute offerings. Please stay tuned.

The Windows Within Project interviewed me about my hospice service work. The summary of the interview is available by clicking here. It's entitled, "Jennifer Wilhoit & Discovering the Natural Landscape of Death & Dying, A Hospice Volunteer Spotlight: The Peace of Integrating Death Into Life."
