Town Hall Meeting
Telephone Town Hall
 
Fort Lauderdale Vice Mayor and District I Commissioner Bruce G. Roberts held the third citywide Telephone Town Hall Meeting on August 22, 2013. More than 4,200 neighbors joined that call. If you missed it, you can listen to the Aug. 22 meeting and all of the previous Town Hall Meetings, just click here.  Mark your calendar to join us for the next Town Hall, which will be hosted by District III Commissioner Bobby B. Tree Giveaway

The City of Fort Lauderdale, in partnership with Broward College, is sponsoring a tree giveaway for Fort Lauderdale residents on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Click here for more information. 
State of the City 

Fort Lauderdale Mayor, John P. "Jack" Seiler delivered the annual State of the City Address on the Orange Bowl Field at Carter Park on August 21, 2013.  If you were unable to attend, click here to watch the video of the address.  You can also view a copy of the City's Game Plan, which provides an overview of recent accomplishments and updates on City initiatives. 
Street Safety
 
In an ongoing effort to preserve quality of life, the City of Fort Lauderdale is aggressively tackling the challenge of pedestrian safety. Drivers are reminded to wait until pedestrians have crossed before proceeding into a designated crosswalk. Pedestrians should use marked crosswalks when they have a walk signal, and remember to look for turning vehicles. Click here for more safety tips on the City website.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department shares information with RAIDS Online to reduce crime, improve public safety and enhance the overall quality of life in our community.  RAIDS Online is a crime mapping tool that helps the public get a better idea of the criminal activity in their area so they can make informed decisions about how to stay safe. Sun Trolley Tracker App

Sun Trolley's ever-popular tracker app received its 10,000th download in August 2013. Launched in 2012, with the help of the Leadership Broward Class 30 Project team, this innovative tracker app is truly exceeding expectations. Click here for more information.

International Boat Show

Save the date, the world's largest international Boat Show will take place in Fort Lauderdale Oct. 31 thru November 4,2013. Show exhibits range from yacht builders and designers to exotic cars and brokerage yachts. A wide variety of boats and sea vessels will be on display.
