Bank of America Starlight Musicals

 

Make sure to catch the remaining Bank of America Starlight Musicals concert series going on through August 2. The series features an exciting line up of bands. Shows take place Fridays from 7-10pm on the football field at Holiday Park. For details, click here or call (954) 828-5363. 

 Join the Next Town Hall Meeting

     

The City is hosting a series of public meetings to get input from neighbors on City services, programs and events. The next citywide Telephone Town Hall Meeting will be hosted by Vice Mayor and District I Commissioner Bruce G. Roberts at 7pm on Thursday, August 22. David Deal Play Day 60th Anniversary

 

David Deal Play Day is a week-long celebration that will take place July 29 - August 10 and feature a golf tournament, teen concert, basketball tournaments, jazz concert, boxing tournament and championship swim meet. Playday was introduced in 1953 by Joseph C. Carter, the first director of Sunland Park (renamed Carter Park), as a way for youth to participate in track and field events. In 1954, the event was renamed David Deal Playday in honor of the Broward County educator and community activist. Click here for a complete schedule.

Lien Amnesty Program Extended 

 

Fort Lauderdale property owners have until September 30 to take

Help Area Kids in Need

 

Now through July 31, Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue and the Firefighters Benevolent Association are holding a Back to School Supply Drive to collect supplies for Kids in Distress. Help local abused and neglected children have a successful start to their school year. Click here for details. 

 Summer Health Fair 

 

Broward Health Community Health Services will host a series of summer health fairs to provide children
and their families access to immunizations and school physicals for the upcoming school year. Multiple fairs are scheduled with Broward Health staff that can accommodate Spanish and Creole speaking families. Click here for a list of upcoming dates and locations. 

 Conservation Pays Rebates 

 

Earn money while helping to conserve a vital resource! For a limited time, Fort Lauderdale residents  are eligible for a $100 rebate when they replace their toilet with a more efficient model. Click here for more information.
