City Adopts Community Vision for 2035


The Commission recently adopted a long-term citywide vision plan.  The vision is based on neighbor ideas gathered during a comprehensive two year public outreach campaign.  Connectivity and resiliency topped the list as critical issues that will shape our future and make Fort Lauderdale "The City You Never Want to Leave" in 2035. Kick off the summer at the City of Fort Lauderdale's 4th Annual Great American Beach Party on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Fort Lauderdale Beach, at A1A and Las Olas Boulevard. City Celebrates Worthy Citizens

 

On Tuesday, May 7, 2013, Fort Lauderdale held its annual Citizen Recognition event to honor residents who have made significant contributions to our community. Honorees are selected by a volunteer Committee, which includes several former City Mayors, a past honoree and the president of the Fort Lauderdale Council of Civic Associations. Click here to learn more about this year's honorees and see photos from the award ceremony.  

City Cracks Down on Property Tax Cheats

Get Yards Ready for Hurricane Season

  

Hurricane season is just a few weeks away, now is the time for neighbors to take advantage of the City's Residential Yard Waste and Bulk Trash Programs to get their properties hurricane ready.  Taking action when a hurricane watch or warning has been issued is too late, as all City Solid Waste services are suspended during a storm. Read more to learn how you can prepare now.

Drop Savers Contest Winners

 

As part of the nationwide Drinking Water Week recognized annually each May, the City, in partnership with the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association, celebrates our drinking water and the importance of conserving it. One of the ways we do this is through the annual Drop Savers Water Conservation Art Contest. 

Fort Lauderdale is Finalist for All-American City Award
