With two campuses and one goal in mind, the Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South Speech, Drama and Debate programs have joined forces to achieve district-wide excellence.

 

"We are excited to come together as one," said Illiana Silvia, junior at HHS. "It's great to have so many different ideas and get so many perspectives. That would have never happened before."

HCISD connects students with the path toward graduation

 

A young man enters the doors of the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District administration building to the sound of cheers, because he has taken the necessary steps to place himself on the path toward graduation once again.

 

His choice to continue his high school education was made during the district's fourth annual Connect to Success Walk on Sept. 7.

HCISD opens newest performance facility

Members of the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Administration, Board of Trustees and community gathered to witness the grand opening of its newest facility.

 

"This facility will give our students a fantastic opportunity to perform in an outstanding venue," said HCISD Director of Music Education Dr. Sabrina Quintana.

High school Speech, Drama, and Debate teams sweep the competition

  
 

 

The Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South Speech, Drama, and Debate Teams had an outstanding performance at the Texas Forensics Association (TFA) Qualifying Tournament hosted by Kempner High School on Sept. 7.

The teams brought home more than 20 trophies with almost all students that attended placing in their respective event.

Gutierrez ACE program earns honors at state convention

 

The Gutierrez Middle School Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) program had another shining year, walking away with two awards at the ACE convention in Austin, TX.

 

They received the Top Academic and Top Enrichment Activity award for their "Good Times" project.

Board of Trustees approve HHSS Associate Principal, Content Area Specialists

  
 

 

The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Antonio Layton as the Associate Principal at Harlingen High School South, Melonie Flores as Content Area Science Specialist, and Sandra Achtsam as Content Area Math Specialist.
