The students at Dishman and Treasure Hills Elementary School will soon have the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the great outdoors.
Claudia Pompa, kindergarten teacher at Dishman, Larisa Vento, first grade teacher at Treasure Hills, and Ranjhani Ramalingam, a parent and campus council member at Treasure Hills, were awarded the Lowes Toolbox for Education grant. The grant is given to teachers to fund school improvement projects and engage students in the learning process.

Person of the Week: Bauer finds her passion at HCISD

Vivian Bauer lives by her personal motto of "it is what it is." She uses it to drive her actions every day, and she's constantly pursuing her personal best.
Bauer is the principal for the Dr. Abraham P. Cano Freshman Academy.Although the campus is set to open Fall 2013, she's been hard at work for over a year making sure the campus is ready to open to 1,300 incoming freshmen at the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District. |

37th consecutive district championship.
At their most recent meet, Coakley blew away the competition with
a score of 410.
The team consists of 30 students. |
