Hello Everyone,

After having the summer off, the "Note From..." email is well-rested and ready for the fall. And good thing, because there is much to tell you about!

This Sunday we return to two services (8:15 and 10:30 am) with Sunday School and Adult Education starting up in between. Adult Education is being shortened to 45 minutes this year. It will start at 9:15 am and will end at 10:00 am. This will allow choir members to have the time they need to practice before the 10:30 am worship. For those not in choir, this gives a little extra time to fellowship and talk about what we learned after class. Note: because of the shorter time, we will start classes on time, so please try to be in the room at 9:15 so you don't miss anything.

Rev. Doug Wysockey-Johnson will be our guest preacher this Sunday and he will lead a churchwide program at 9:15 am introducing our fall theme: Listening for Your Call. Doug is our 2013 Montview Lecturer, which takes place October 4th (lecture) and 5th (workshop). He will also return for another workshop on listening for God's call within groups (like committees) on November 16th.  Tickets for the Oct. 4th and 5th Lectureship are available at www.montview.org.

After church this Sunday stick around for pizza and ice cream (thank you, Deacons!). Next week John Kuzma is cooking up a Jazz Sunday you won't want to miss. And our regular Adult Education classes start with a class on Revelations, taught by Prof. Gregory Robbins (University of Denver) and Steve Kennedy has some great speakers lined up in the Contemporary Issues Forum (formerly known as 49ers).

There are many other things to tell you about, so be sure to pick up a copy of Montview Events and Activities for 2013-14 in church this Sunday, so you can mark your calendar with all the great things going on this year.

We are excited and energized here in the office and looking forward to a great fall.

Grace and goodness,

Rev. Ian Gregory Cummins
Rev. Dr. Jason Whitehead
Tilman Adair
