Dear Montview Friends,
As I think back over the last 30 years, I recall fondly how many times I have called you friends. Together we have served, prayed and worshipped God together. I am so grateful for the years and ministry we have shared. Today, Montview is in a wonderful place, with great leadership and staff, and a growing, amazing congregation. For me, it's time for a change.
Doug and I have raised our children at Montview, received overwhelming love and support from so many of you and have had the privilege of calling Montview our church home for all these years. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Montview Presbyterian family for so long.
My plans are to leave July 1st of next year. I'm announcing this on the early side in order for Session to begin the process of finding an interim pastor who can be ready to begin immediately after my departure. This will ensure a strong transition and support for Tilman, Ian and the rest of our wonderful staff. After 30 years, I want Montview to experience a new pastor for congregational life and I am eager for what the future will bring.
I plan to take some time off to reflect, listen and decide what is next for me. Until then, I will serve this congregation with faith and great affection.
With much love and gratitude,
P.S. To reach all members of the congregation a letter will be mailed early next week.
