Have you heard about Agenda 21? Most American's haven't. It is essentially a blueprint for a "sustainable world" that was introduced at the UN Conference in 1992. The philosophy behind Agenda 21 is that our environmental problems are the number one problem that we are facing, and that those problems are being caused by human activity. Therefore, according to Agenda 21 human activity needs to be tightly monitored, regulated and controlled for the greater good. Individual liberties and freedoms must be sacrificed for the good of the planet. Learn about the facts: 1) Regional governance, 2) Overview of planning organizations, 3) Important Stakeholders, 4) Building "One" America 5) Fair Housing regulations. Is human activity about to be damaged? Is this the next thing that will be jammed down our throats? David Frost a native of Northwest Ohio and a Transportation and Trade expert explores this important subject
Here's a list of subjects that likely will be covered. Let me know if some should be excluded, or if you have something you think should be added.
Not necessarily in this order:
Discussion about regional governance
Overview of MPO & planning organizations (hope to focus on the MPO in your area)
Administrations use of the Sustainable Communities Initiative
Building One America
First Suburbs (they have a Cincinnati organization), Cleveland & Dayton, too
Terms to know about
Urban Growth Boundaries
HUD Rulemaking changes to impact fair housing regulations.
A native of northwest Ohio, David Frost Graduated University of Toledo with a Degree in Transportation & Foreign Trade. He has a career with a major consumer products company as Director of Distribution and has been retired for 20 years (in May).
He is married with three children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
He discovered the sustainable development movement through involvement of local organizations in an (unsuccessful) effort by the National Park Service to create a national heritage area in northeast Ohio.
He is willing to travel anywhere to bring awareness to the perils of regionalism and the potential loss of privacy and personal property; government by bureaucrats; loss of accountability of elected officials. He also is leading the establishment of a coalition of individuals in the 12 county area covered by our MPO and sustainable development planning organization to develop a common voice and act as liaison with patriot groups in their respective counties. Setting up a class on the Delphi Technique so activists are prepared for "visioning" sessions. (Nita note: looks like they are calling them Regional Scenario Planning here in NE OH)
