Piano Needed for the Sanctuary
St. John's is looking for a baby grand or grand piano for the church Sanctuary.  Although we have a beautiful Mason Hamlin Grand Piano which serves the Choir Room and Parish Hall very well for concerts and rehearsals, it is not accessible for use in the church accept from the hallway.  Do you a beautiful piano at home which you rarely use?  Would you be interested in donating it to St. John on the Mountain?  Maybe you are not quite ready to donate it - would you be interested in moving it to St. John's on an indefinite loan?  Numerous groups, other than our own choir, perform regularly in our beautiful church.  Many times, certain music requires a piano rather than an organ for appropriate accompaniment.  At the moment, we cannot accommodate this music.  We are looking particularly for a baby grand or a grand piano, no uprights.  While uprights make excellent practice instruments, they are often difficult to see over in a performance or accompanying situation.  Imagine walking into St. John's on Sunday morning or for a concert performance and hearing your piano played regularly by professional musicians.  Please carefully consider contributing to the music at St. John's with a wonderful gift such as this.
Trinity Cathedral Community Day and Golf Tournament

As in past years, members of St. John on the Mountain will support our Trinity Cathedral in Trenton by participating in the Trinity Cathedral Community Day and Golf Tournament.  The 11th annual event will be held on Monday, October 12th at the Mercer Oaks Golf Club, near Princeton.  The event will include an outdoor Eucharist, then fun golfing, refreshments and supper with members of other churches in our Diocese.  The cost is $170 per person.  Please consider either golfing with our team or your financial support for the event with a check to "Trinity Cathedral - Trenton."  Please join us in support of the programs and outreach of the Cathedral.  (Note: If you are known to be a skilled golfer, you may be actively recruited to join our team!)
Girls are Invited to Join the St. John's Choir for a Portion of the November 7th Concert
The women of The Choir of St. John's would like to invite girls in grades 8-12 to join them in singing the beautiful "Messe Basse" by Gabriel Fauré  at their November 7th concert.  The "Messe Basse" is a lovely setting of the mass for female voices only.  This portion of the concert is about 10 minutes long and will be rehearsed on Sundays after church.  The first rehearsal will be September 20th and will be about thirty minutes long.  We would love to have you join us!
