The Fifth Sunday of Easter

St. John's Nursery School & St. John on the Mountain Annual Spring Fundraiser this Saturday, May 17th

Please join us as we come together to celebrate and support the St. John's Scholarship Fund in its first year at St. John's Nursery School this Saturday, May 17th at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall.  Hors d'oeuvres, entrees, and desserts will be served.  Food selections will feature the cuisines of Italy, France, and California with wine pairings by Chris Cree of 56 Degree Wine.  There will be a silent auction and a raffle.  Click here for invitation.

Did you know...
  • That attending a preschool program such as St. John's Nursery School helps prepare children for the social and academic challenges of kindergarten and beyond.
  • That those who attend a preschool program are likely to have a job and are likely to complete a higher degree of education and go to college than those who had not gone to preschool.
  • That for every $1 invested in high-quality preschool, taxpayers save an average of $7 in future costs due to reductions in remedial education costs, increased labor productivity, and a reduction in crime.

The St. John's Scholarship Fund will provide financial assistance to all families in need by offering two to four full scholarships per year.  The Fund will also be available to current families who may need assistance with tuition, lunch bunch, and enrichment costs.

Can You Speak or Read Another Language?

Pentecost Readers Needed on Sunday, June 8th

As we prepare for the Feast of Pentecost on Sunday, June 8th, we recall the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The first disciples experienced this by understanding languages they had never before learned.  If you are able to read or speak a language other than English, please contact Mother Susan in order to participate in the proclamation of the lessons on Pentecost, when we will experience the gift of multiple languages proclaiming the Word of the Lord.  Fluency is not needed.  One merely needs to be able to read aloud in a different language.

Healing Service on Thursday, May 29th

The Holy Eucharist with Prayers for Healing will take place on Thursday, May 29th at noon in the chapel. This simple service of prayer, Holy Communion, and the laying on of hands for those who desire it, is an extension of the ministry of the Pastoral Care Committee.   All are welcome.
