Healing Service on Thursday, Feb 27th

The Holy Eucharist with Prayers for Healing will take place on Thursday, February 27th at noon in the chapel. This simple service of prayer, Holy Communion, and the laying on of hands for those who desire it, is an extension of the ministry of the Pastoral Care Committee. All are welcome.

Altar Guild Meeting on Thursday, February 27th

There will be a meeting of all Altar Guild members on Thursday, February 27 at 10:30 am in the Church Sacristy.  The purpose of this meeting is to demonstrate all Altar Guild procedures and review team assignments for the rest of 2014.  Mother Susan will be leading us in reflection and prayer.  Please make every effort to attend.

Evening Prayer on Tuesdays: Praying in Lent

March 11th, 18th, 25th, April 1, April 8

On Tuesdays evenings at 6 pm, the community will gather for Evening Prayer in the Chapel, followed by a simple pot-luck supper. Members of our community will preside at this simple service of prayer.  Bring a dish to share for supper, and come and allow the word of God to wash over you, and pray with the assembled community, as our ancestors did before us.

Baptism on Saturday, April 19th

We baptize primarily on those dates set aside for baptism, as listed in the Book of Common Prayer.  Since the presence of the community of faith is essential for welcoming the newly baptized into the church, baptisms take place in the principal service on the appointed Sunday.  Questions about baptism?  Please contact the office 908-766-2282 or office@sjotm.org. The 2014 dates for Holy Baptism

  • Saturday, April 19th - The Great Vigil of Easter
  • Sunday, June 8th - The Day of Pentecost
  • Sunday, November 2nd - All Saints' Sunday

2014 Stewardship

As of February 19th, we have 117 pledges for $353,425.  Our goal is to increase participation from last year and reach a total of $362,000 for 2014.  If you have any questions about Stewardship, please contact Chip Baird or Bob Courtemanche.

If you haven't already done so, please return your 2014 Pledge Card ASAP.  Click here to read the 2014 Stewardship Letter.  Extra pledge cards can be found in the narthex or click here to download or email the office to have one sent to you.

You can also donate Stocks to SJOTM. We would be happy to accept stock donations for 2014 as form of  pledge payment. The tax advantages of giving stock, instead of cash, to church can make doing so very worthwhile.  To learn more, please contact Lisa Keenan in the office at 908-766-2282 ext 13 or by email at L.Keenan@SJOTM.org.

Serious Food Shortage at the Food Bank

We have learned that the number of people needing food assistance in our area is way up.  The long lines of needy people at the Bank is very noticeable and the supply of food is low.  The combination of high unemployment, termination of federal benefits for the long term unemployed, and the frigid weather has made recent times very difficult for many neighbors in our community.  Here's how you can help.  Bring a few food items to church.  There is a special need for canned meats, stews, soups, tuna, and Spam.  Donations are delivered weekly to the Food Bank warehouse.
