The First Sunday of Advent

Advent Wreath Making for ALL this Sunday, December 1st

Sunday school children will be making Advent Wreaths at 10 am this Sunday, December 1st in Parish Hall (in lieu of Sunday School).  All materials will be supplied.  A $5 donation to help off-set the cost of supplies is greatly appreciated.

Adults are welcome to make theirs immediately following the 10:00 am service.

2014 Stewardship

As of  Wednesday, November 27th, we have 85 pledging units for $274,625. Our goal is to increase participation from last year's 113 pledges and reach a total of $362,000 for 2014.  If you have any questions about Stewardship, please contact Chip Baird or Bob Courtemanche.

If you haven't already done so, please return your 2014 Pledge Card, as the Vestry needs them to make their budget decisions for the upcoming year.  Click here to read the 2014 Stewardship Letter.  Extra pledge cards can be found in the narthex or click here to download or email the office to have one sent to you.

You can also donate Stocks to SJOTM. We would be happy to accept stock donations for 2014 as form of  pledge payment. The tax advantages of giving stock, instead of cash, to church can make doing so very worthwhile.  To learn more, please contact Lisa Keenan in the office at 908-766-2282 ext 13 or by email at L.Keenan@SJOTM.org.

Children's Choir - Christmas Music

All children are welcomed and encouraged to rehearse some old favorites and some great new music every Sunday after the 10 am service in preparation for the Christmas Pageant and for the 5 pm Christmas Eve Service.  Look for Mr. Morgan in the Choir Room or at the organ console.  Parents, we are in need of your support by bringing your children to rehearsal to allow for adequate preparation time.  Little ones are welcome to come too and practice singing Away in a Manger and Angels We Have Heard on High.

Healing Service this Thursday, December 5th

The Holy Eucharist with Prayers for Healing will take place on Thursday, December 5th at noon in the chapel.  This simple service of prayer, Holy Communion, and the laying on of hands for those who desire it, is an extension of the ministry of the Pastoral Care Committee. All are welcome.

Men's Luncheon this Thursday, December 5th

Please join us on the first Thursday of each month at 12:15 pm at the Morristown Club at 27 Elm Street in Morristown.  The luncheons are open to members of the parish and their guests.  For more information please contact Alan Enos at 908-234-1321 or aenos4@verizon.net.

Plaid House Stocking Stuffers Donations Needed by December 5th

The knitters will be having their annual Plaid House girls' gift packaging party on Thursday, December 5, at 10:30 in the meeting room.  They need donations of stocking stuffer type gifts (ages 14 through 18) to add to the packages.  Last year, they gave the girls knitted mitts and headbands, earrings crafted from beads, and lots of candy.  This year's knitted gifts are cowls.  They package and deliver 10 gift bags for the Plaid House annual Christmas party.  Please leave any donations in the meeting room by December 5 with your name for acknowledgement.  Thank you from the knitting group and the Plaid House girls!

Advent Coffee Hour

Please join us on Sunday, December 8th for an Advent Coffee Hour immediately following 10:00 worship to celebrate and honor the many wonderful new people who have come to our community this year.  In addition to delectable treats, there will be hot chocolate and Arts & Crafts for the children.

Advent Arts and Crafts

Please join us on Sunday, December 8th and Sunday, December 15th for  Advent Arts and Crafts during coffee hour in Parish Hall following the 10:00 am service.

Christmas Adopt-a-Family

Help bring joy to a struggling family's Christmas by providing an uncooked meal for their Christmas Dinner.  It's easy!  Just buy the makings for a meal, and deliver it uncooked to your Adopt-a-Family.  A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board near Parish Hall.  Please call Sue Kennedy at 908-234-0267 or email with any questions.  If you have a particular family you have been supporting in the past, please let Sue know so that she can inform the Food Bank.
