 Be an Art Show Volunteer

Everyone is encouraged to help support St. John's largest fundraiser.  There are many days and ways in which you can help.  The sign-up boards, with a list of opportunities, are in the Parish Hall.  Any and all help is appreciated.

High School Volunteers Sought for the Preview Party

On Friday, October 18th The Mountain Art Show is looking for help serving food at the Preview Party from our high schoolers from 5:30-9 pm.  This is a big event for the church and the high school youth's help is needed and appreciated.  This is a great way to get community service, meet interesting people, and see some great art!  Please contact Tressa Baird to sign-up or for more information 908-221-1535.

November 3rd Baptism

We baptize primarily on those dates set aside for baptism, as listed in the Book of Common Prayer.  Since the presence of the communit y of faith is essential for welcoming the newly baptized into the church, baptisms take place in the principal service on the appointed Sunday. The next day for Baptism is Sunday, November 3rd at 10 am, in a joint service with the community of St. Bernard's.  Questions about baptism?  Please contact Mo. Susan at rector@sjotm.org.

All Saints' Day

During the joint Sunday service on November 3rd with St. Bernard's,

we will remember in prayer the names of those who have been buried from St. John on the Mountain during the past year.  In addition to reading the list of names of those who died this year, we invite you to share with us the names of those you have loved and lost. Please send us those names, and we will remember them before God when we celebrate the Feast of All Saints.  Click here for form.  Please return your dedication by Friday, October 25th.

Request for Outreach Proposals

St. John's  Mission Outreach Commission is calling for "Request for Proposals (RFP)" from smaller non-profit organizations in which parishioners are involved.   We are offering grants of $500 -  $2,000 to local charities for which such a sum would be a meaningful donation. We favor charities that we can support with our time and talent, as well as with funds to help them to build a better organization and reach their goals.

The requirements for the RFP are as follows:

1)  The organization must be not-for-profit

2)  Small, independent organizations are favored but local

chapters of larger organizations may also apply

3)   Organizations are encouraged to name specific projects with

a cost of around $1,000, although more general uses will be

      considered

4)  Each RFP must be sponsored by a parishioner who has

knowledge of the organization and who is willing to

      represent it to the Commission

The RFP need not be very long but should include the amount of money sought and a brief description of how the money will be used. We would also like to know what the primary sources of funds are for the charity. A website address should be included.

Submit your RFPs, to the Parish Office, by November 15th for funds to be distributed this year.
