Ferrum to Host Women's Basketball NCAA Tournament First and Second Round Games
Ferrum College has been selected to host a four-team regional this Friday and Saturday to include first and second round games for the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament!
The three teams traveling to Ferrum will be Capital University of the Ohio Athletic Conference, Christopher Newport University of the Capital Athletic Conference and Eastern Mennonite University of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Christopher Newport will face Eastern Mennonite Friday afternoon at 5 PM, followed by the Ferrum vs. Capital game at 7 PM. The winners of Friday's games will play Saturday at 7 PM. Read more here.

Doors Ministries' Meidlinger to Speak March 10
On Monday, March 10, Doors Ministries' Meggie Meidlinger will speak at Ferrum College about Doors' founding, mission and growth since its 2012 establishment in Uganda. In addition, Ferrum College Enactus Club members will be on hand selling jewelry made by Ugandan women as part of Doors' Jubilee Jewelry Program. Meidlinger's presentation and the jewelry sale, which are open to the public, will take place at 4 PM in the Panthers Den in Franklin Hall on campus. Meidlinger's appearance is one of this year's "Sustaining Community Engagement" Academic Theme events coordinated with the School of Social Sciences and Professional Studies. Read more here. |

March 11th Women's Leadership Conference to Focus on Immigration

The 17th Annual Women's Leadership Conference will be held at Ferrum College on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. The Conference incorporates the College's academic theme of "sustaining community engagement" with a timely focus on immigration. Presenters will include Ferrum alumnae, area high school students, as well as nationally and internationally known artists, faith leaders and activists. The Conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Panther's Den in Franklin Hall on the College campus. Scheduled lunch and dinner breaks will allow participants to enjoy meals on their own on- or off-campus. Conference admission is free but pre-registration is requested. Read more here.
