We are excited to host this week's USA South Women's Basketball Tournament on campus. Ferrum is the top seed and will play #8 Meredith College in the quarterfinals tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Swartz Gym! Can't join us on campus for the Tournament? Watch the games streaming live online here. Coach Bryan Harvey's team is 23-2 overall this season, ranked #13 by USA Today and ranked #15 by D3hoops.com. Bryan Harvey Named USA South Coach of the Year
For the third consecutive year, Ferrum College Women's Basketball Coach Bryan Harvey has been named the USA South Coach of the Year. With a 23-2 overall regular season record, the Panthers won the regular season title with a 17-2 league mark under Harvey's direction.
Harvey is the first women's basketball coach to earn three consecutive USA South Coach of the Year honors since UNC-Greensboro's Lynne Agee accomplished the feat from 1986-88. This is Harvey's fourth league Coach of the Year award (2007, 2012, 2013, 2014.) Read more here.

Ferrum College Women Players Recognized by USA South
Four Ferrum women's basketball players have been recognized on the 2014 USA South Women's Basketball All-Conference Team, including first-team selections Katy Kipps and Shea Smith. Jacole Hairston earned a spot on the All-Conference second team and Kylene Culler is a third tream selection. Culler is averaging 10.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. USA South Recognizes Men's Basketball Players
Ferrum College had two players named to the 2014 USA South Men's Basketball All-Conference team, Brian Clarke and Jamal Pullen. Pullen was named to the All-Conference first team. Clarke grabbed a spot on the All-Conference third team. Chase Gough is Ferrum's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
The Ferrum men's basketball team (10-15) will play in this week's USA South Tournament, to be held Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 27 through March 1, at Maryville College in Maryville, TN. The Panthers are the tournament's #7 seed and face #2 Averett University today at 3:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals. Read more here. |
