 Happy New Year! As we prepare to welcome our returning and new students to the spring semester, we ask our entire Ferrum College family to give a warm reception to our new Dean of the Chapel, Dr. Jan Nicholson, as well as their congratulations to Dr. Gail Summer, who was appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs. This semester will also feature additional Centennial year events, as our 100th anniversary celebrations continue through commencement on Saturday, May 10! Each of our Ferrum family members is pivotal to the success of our students through their dedication to the College in their communities and churches, just as our faculty and staff are in the classrooms, the dining hall, the residence halls, the athletic fields, the myriad support offices and the grounds. Ferrum College Welcomes Dr. Jan Nicholson as New Dean of the Chapel
Ferrum College Dean of the Chapel Dr. Jan Nicholson is already settling in at the Campus Ministries office, now centrally located in Franklin Hall, and is eager to meet students, faculty and staff as she takes on this new role.
"We are truly blessed to have found a person of Jan's caliber to continue the vital role of this position at Ferrum College," Dr. Braaten said.

Dr. Gail Summer Appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs
 Congratulations to Dr. Gail Summer, whose appointment as Vice President for Academic Affairs, effective January 1, 2014, was announced at the last faculty meeting in December. "Gail has done a wonderful job serving as interim vice president and brings continuity, strength and a wealth of experience to the position," said Dr. Braaten. |
