Following our Centennial Celebration Homecoming weekend events, October continues to be an exciting month at Ferrum College as we continue our tradition of celebrating the region's music and craft heritage with the 40th Annual Blue Ridge Folklife Festival this Saturday on campus from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Next week, the College will partner with the Roanoke Valley Reads organization to host a family reading event from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, in the new Learning Commons Classrooms in Stanley Library. Learn more here.

Then on Wednesday, October 30, Woody Crenshaw, owner of nationally known Crenshaw Lighting, the Floyd Country Store and Riverstone Organic Farm, will give a keynote address at 11:15 a.m. in the Blue Ridge Mountain Room in Franklin Hall as he serves as the College's next Executive in Residence. Learn more here.

Wrap up the month on Thursday, October 31, with the All Hallows' Eve Festival, an evening of music, games, food, a haunted forest and more for children and adults alike presented by the College and the Ferrum branch of the YMCA. Learn more here.

We hope to see you this weekend and again in the weeks and months to come as we continue to Celebrate a Century at Ferrum College!

Ferrum College SIFE/Enactus
Alumni & Current Students Celebrate 25 Years
Ferrum College SIFE-Enactus Reunion

Alumni and current students from Ferrum's Enactus teams (formerly called Students in Free Enterprise) celebrated the program's 25th anniversary during the College's Centennial Celebration weekend.

Business Professor Dr. Demetri Tsanacas started the program at Ferrum College in 1988. Earlier this year, the Ferrum Enactus team won the regional competition in Charlotte, NC for the 24th year in a row. Photos from the anniversary celebration can be viewed here

The College is seeking to raise $25,000 as an endowed fund in support of Ferrum's Enactus program in honor of the 25th anniversary. The $25,000 will be used for the students' travel and expenses associated with their competitions. If you are interested in supporting the SIFE/Enactus endowed fund, please contact Joanna Coleman at [email protected] or by phone at 540.420.9832.
