221 graduates will receive degrees as we celebrate commencement on Saturday, May 4. The ceremony will take place at Hart International Plaza in the center of campus. View the live stream beginning at 10:20 a.m. �

Commencement Speaker Announced for Saturday, May 4, 2013
Dr. Timothy S. Mescon is the fourth president of Columbus State University. He assumed that responsibility in August 2008.  Currently Dr. Mescon serves as a trustee of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' Commission on Colleges. He is also a trustee at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, chair of the board of the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley (where he led the successful 2010 campaign), and a trustee of the Boy Scouts of America - Chattahoochee Council and the Fort Benning Futures Partnership Board. He also serves as an ally in the Circles Columbus Program. In 2012 and 2013, Georgia Trend magazine named Dr. Mescon one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians.
S. Allen DeHart '54 to Receive Beckham Medallion
Among the day's award recipients will be Allen DeHart '54, who will receive the Ferrum College Beckham Medallion. Named after the College's first president Dr. Benjamin M. Beckham, the Beckham Medallion is the highest honor bestowed upon an alumnus. DeHart, who exemplifies the College motto "Not Self, But Others", gifted the 172-acre DeHart Botanical Gardens in Patrick County to the College and is being honored for his loyalty to the College.
