Metal Casting Group From UW-Stout Visits Club!

Here at the Club we had a group come in and they explained metal casting to the members. The members learned about how something that was once a metal object has been melted down, put into a mold, and made into something new. Once the presentation was over, members were brought outside where they were able to have the opportunity to make their own keychain out of casted metal! The keychain said UW-Stout on the front and they wrote their name on the back. All the members were so excited to have this opportunity. One of the members said, "This is so cool! I think they need to come more often!" The members went down an assembly line starting with their foam block, then pressing UW-Stout into it, covering it with the metal particles, tipping their molten metal onto the mold, and then sawing the keychain to their liking. The members loved the hands on activity.

Annual Lemonade Day - Thursday, August 6th, 2015

Lemonade Day is a nationally recognized event that helps youth learn how to set goals, develop a business plan, provide customer service, create a marketing strategy, and give back to the community.  During Lemonade Day, our youth manage their own lemonade stands throughout the Menomonie Community.  They are responsible for attracting customers, marketing their product, and keeping the customer the priority.  Not only do our youth learn the essentials of running a business, the event helps to instill important life lessons about life, success, and themselves.

Visit a Lemonade Stand location near you: Culver's of Menomonie, Walmart Supercenter, UW-Stout Clocktower Plaza, or State Farm Insurance Agency - Jackie Hunt

Thank you to our Lemonade Day Sponsors for making this exciting opportunity for youth possible!

Member of the Month

Our July member of the month is Jade! Jade was selected as the member of the month for her good character and excellent participation in programming. Her favorite program at the Club is Healthy Habits because she likes to cook. Jade's favorite memory of the Club is when Gary from Culver's brought custard for the members. Some of her hobbies include bowling, dancing, and basketball. When Jade grows up she wants to be a doctor. She says the best thing about Club is the staff because they are really nice.
