Where are they now? Taylor Gibson |
Taylor Gibson, former LISA Metro player. Taylor played on the Girls 14 Metro team that won the 2006 Coastal Cup, 2006 Provincial A Cup, and placed 5th in the 2006 Nationals. Taylor also played on the Super Y team that went to Florida in 2009.
While in Florida, Taylor was scouted by Houston Baptist University in Texas where she is now a senior in Journalism and Mass Communications. She plays for their Division 1 soccer team, the Huskies; she will be playing her last season with them in the fall. Over the past 3 years, she has been named first team all academic, 3 time GWC Offensive Player of the week and first team all conference in the GWC.
Taylor is graduating this month and has also been on the dean's list for the past 2 years for achieving academic excellence. She is now balancing her time between school, soccer and work. For work, she is working as an associate producer at KPRC Local 2 News, an NBC affiliate station in Houston. TAYLOR GIBSON on right We wish you continued success! |

Players aged U8 to U12 voluntarily completed the following questions:
I play soccer because...
It's really important to me that I...
Why do I play soccer?

LISA AGM Update
|
Coaching exemptions are still in effect
The official rule is that a player will be granted an exemption for as long as the Association board is satisfied that the player's parent or guardian is the head coach of that player's team.
Reminder all Head Coaches of teams in Coastal or Provincial Cup must have at minimum "Soccer for Life" coaching qualification otherwise their team will not be able to play.
Release rules have changed (as voted on by the Club Presidents)
- There are no releases permitted to VIPL teams.
- A club may release a player if they do not have enough players to reasonably assume they can create a team.
- The LISA practice for reviewing releases is and will now be written into the official rules for club and parent clarity as follows: After October 1, releases will not be reviewed outside of regularly scheduled board meetings.
