Welcome to all 1,521 newsletter subscribers!
If you strolled through town this weekend, you likely saw vendors selling the Three Kings Loaf (Rosca de los Reyes). That's because Sunday was Día de los Santos Reyes, also known as Three Kings' Day. On this day, Mexicans exchange gifts in honor of the arrival of the three gift-bearing wise men to baby Jesus and to celebrate, they serve the Three Kings Loaf, a round doughnut-shaped cake containing three little plastic dolls inside. By tradition, if you are served a slice that contains a doll, you must host a party on Día de la Candelaria on February 2. To find out what else is happening this week, read through the information below and take a peek at our online Community Calendar.
And to help plan your upcoming trip or your day in the bay, don't forget to check the current weather conditions on the Official Jaltemba Bay Weather Page.
Watch for the next issue of the Jaltemba Bay Life newsletter, which should arrive in your Inbox on January 16th just in time for your morning coffee.
Saludos!
