Daylight Saving Time Clock Did you remember to turn your clocks back Sunday morning? Daylight Saving Time ended at 2am this past Sunday, October 28 in Nayarit and the surrounding states. If you are driving through Mexico, keep in mind that the ten US border municipalities do not "fall back" until Sunday, November 4 along with Canada and the US.

This is a busy week with both Halloween and Dia de los Muertos celebrations. You can find a large variety of decorations available this year in nearly every store. I even saw packages of candy skulls being sold. Happy Haunting to those of you who are trick or treating!

To help plan your upcoming trip or your day in the bay, don't forget to check the current weather conditions on the Official Jaltemba Bay Weather Page.

To find out what's happening this week and next, read through the information below and take a peek at our online Community Calendar.

Be sure to watch for the next issue, which will arrive in your InBox on November 6th just in time for your morning coffee.

I was returning from Puerto Vallarta one late afternoon. The traffic was about a normal flow. I was just entering the town of Lo de Marcos where there is a center divider in the highway. Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead -- All Saints' Day)
During this 2-day holiday, relatives celebrate the lives of those who have passed on. November 1st is All Saints' Day, when Mexicans pay homage to the souls of the children who have passed. November 2nd is All Souls' Day, when the souls of those who died in adulthood are honored. Relatives of those who died, gather at cemeteries throughout Mexico, bringing bread, fruit and decorated sugar skulls, along with candles and the favorite food of the people they are remembering, to celebrate the lives of those passed on. The mood is far from morbid: it is lively, upbeat, and is a celebration of life!
