This family/business picnic event is presented by Friends of SW 9th and the Des Moines East and South Chamber of Commerce.
We are currently in need of 50 volunteers to make this event a success. Shifts range from 10:30-1:30 pm and 1:30-5 pm. Contact sadie@dsmeastsouthchamber.org if you are interested. There will be a meeting to educate volunteers on September 3rd from 6-7 pm at Christ the King Parish.

September 17 Education and Professional Development Through the dual membership between the Des Moines East and South Chamber and Greater Des Moines Partnership, you have access to numerous educational and professional development offerings throughout the year. Offerings span a wide variety of topics, including The Affordable Care Act, social media, human resource issues and inclusion, and are offered both via webinar and in person. The goal is to provide you with just-in-time information on pertinent business operations and emerging trends, but also to encourage you to step outside of your business for a day to recharge and be inspired. Some examples of this include TEDxDesMoines, a series of short, inspiring talks on a variety of topics, business etiquette and networking workshops, and new for this fall is the Disney's Approach to Business Excellence workshop. This day-long program will inspire area professionals from businesses large and small to drive business results, retain employees, and satisfy customers.
