In January 2011, the East Des Moines Chamber and South Des Moines Chamber combined efforts and resources by offering joint membership. Since then, we have successfully worked together to provide enhanced benefits to members through goal-driven committees, programs to support member business needs and a full calendar of events.

 

While the joint membership has served us well, merging to one chamber allows us to combine Boards of Directors and will enable us to more efficiently and effectively meet the needs of our members. After a special committee presented research to both Boards of Directors and recommended the chambers merge, the merger was proposed and accepted by members earlier this year.

 

Since that time, long-term strategies have been developed by the newly combined Board of Directors to ensure the Chamber is positioned to meet the needs of all members in East and South Des Moines. The Des Moines East and South Chamber will continue to work closely with the other two Des Moines Chambers (West Side and Downtown) and with the City of Des Moines to provide greater member business exposure and stronger relationships with city leaders and staff.

Our marketing committee has diligently worked over the last few months to develop a new logo and brand identity to reflect Des Moines East and South Chamber. We hope you can join us as we unveil our new logo and celebrate this significant milestone on June 20, 2013, 4:00 p.m. at Confluence Brewery. Please be sure to share this exciting news and event information with other chamber representatives in your organization.
