We want to thank our sponsors and everyone who attended and contributed to this year's Celebration of Progress at the Bright Grandview Golf Course. Please congratulate Abra Pulley for being awarded the Volunteer of the Year and Douglas Acres for being awarded the Neighborhood Association of the year. We also awarded $1,000 scholarships to East High School, North High School, and Grand View University.
This month's luncheon will be at Latin King on Tuesday, October 9th. Please sign up on-line so you don't miss hearing from the 2012 Golden Circle Members.
Our second annual Poker Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, November 3rd. We hope you will be able to attend and bring friends and family. You can find more information on the East and South Des Moines Chamber website.
Don't forget to complete the Chamber survey. We appreciate your input and will use this information for the future of the chambers.

Executive Director Update
We are well on our way to preparing for 2013! If your business would like to host/cater lunch or any other event next year, please contact our events chair, Dawn Chamberlain, to be sure you are included in our planning. The staff has been very busy the last few weeks wrapping up the Celebration of Progress, preparing our membership Survey ( complete survey now), and taking on our first ever membership program, ChamberMaster. This program will allow us to better track your history with the chamber and help us make sure you are getting all the benefits you are expecting and more! With this, you will see enhancements on our website and more opportunities to showcase your business. In conjunction with ChamberMaster, we are now using Constant Contact and PayPal for event registrations. Payment options for most events will be by credit card on-line or "pay at the door". On-line payment will be through PayPal with any credit card. You will not be required to have a PayPal account. The "pay at the door" option will allow you to pre-register so we can more accurately track attendance for meals, etc. Changes have been made in the meeting dates and locations for the Membership and Ambassador Committees. The Ambassador Committee will also host its first Ambassador Roundup on October 11th at Exile Brewery. Look for this information on the website calendar and in newsletter events.
