Maryland Late Renewal/Reinstatement Period:

January 1- January 30, 2014

Act Now

You are receiving this notice because a Maryland mortgage license renewal request has not been submitted.  Effective January 1, 2014, except for loan processing in compliance with COMAR 09.03.06.03F, the company and/or individual must stop all mortgage lending, brokering, servicing and/or origination activities until the license is renewed.

The annual renewal period for Maryland mortgage lenders and mortgage loan originators ended December 31, 2013.  However, Maryland will accept late renewal requests which are submitted through NMLS until January 30, 2014.

Late renewal requests will not be accepted after January 30, 2014, and licensees who have not submitted a renewal request by January 30, 2014 will have the license status changed to "Terminated-Expired."  After January 30, 2014, previously licensed persons who wish to conduct Maryland mortgage business, must submit a new license request through NMLS and obtain an approval.

Please log in to your account on the NMLS to either submit your renewal request by January 30, 2014 or notify this Agency that you do not intend to renew your license by marking the license as "Do Not Renew."   Note that any individual required to complete Continuing Education for calendar year 2013 must request from the provider "Late CE for 2013."   If late CE is not requested, any CE taken will be credited for calendar year 2014 and will NOT satisfy calendar year 2013 renewal requirements. Please visit the Annual Renewal Page of the NMLS Resource Center  for assistance with the lender or loan originator renewal process.
