Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation Announces
Hiring of Amy K. Mataban - Counsel of Non-Bank Activities
Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation Mark Kaufman is extremely pleased to announce the hiring of Ms. Amy K. Mataban as Counsel of Non-Bank Activities.
Ms. Mataban brings 22 years of experience in the areas of public finance and real estate, involving complex transactional work. Her legal, financial, and real estate expertise will be extremely beneficial to the licensing and consumer issues the Commissioner's Office oversees.
Ms. Mataban previously worked at the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development. Over the past eight years she has represented its Division of Neighborhood Revitalization and the Community Development Administration as the Senior Attorney for its affordable multifamily rental housing division with emphasis on tax exempt bond financing coupled with the syndication of federal low-income housing tax credits. Prior to joining the OAG, she worked for Susquehanna Bank as President of the bank-owned title company and LandAmerica Financial as counsel for Maryland direct operations.
Ms. Mataban is a 1991 graduate of the University Of Maryland School Of Law, and holds a BA from Western Maryland College.
