It has come to the attention of the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulation that certain wholesale lenders and investors have notified licensed mortgage lenders and loan originators that they will not fund loans beginning January 1, 2013 without some notification of an approved license to operate in Maryland.
Please be advised that Mortgage Lender and Mortgage Loan Originator licensees that have made timely application for renewal prior to the date of expiration may continue to operate in an active status as identified as "Approved", "Approved-Deficient", or "Approved-Conditional" on NMLS Consumer Access while the applications are being processed by the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulation.
Alternatively, licensees that have failed to apply will appear as "Terminated-Failed to Renew" on NMLS Consumer Access and should not operate in Maryland until such status has changed as a result of a complete application.
NMLS Consumer Access can be reached at: http://www.nmlsconsumeraccess.org/
