Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation Announces New Assistant Commissioner of Non-Depository Oversight
BALTIMORE, MD (December 12, 2012) Commissioner of Financial Regulation Mark Kaufman is pleased to announce that Keisha Whitehall Wolfe has been appointed Assistant Commissioner of Non-depository Oversight within the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. Within the broad jurisdiction of DLLR's Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulation, Ms. Whitehall Wolfe will oversee non-depository financial institutions with responsibility for licensing, compliance and policy for industries ranging from mortgage lenders and brokers to check cashers and debt management firms. Ms. Whitehall Wolfe most recently served as the Director of Licensing for the Office.
"Keisha's leadership was instrumental in facilitating the transition of Maryland's mortgage lender and loan originator licensees onto the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and will serve the citizens of the State well in her new role," said Commissioner Kaufman. The Office hopes to transition other license categories to NMLS over the next few years and Ms. Whitehall Wolfe's experience will be critical in doing so. Her appointment is effective December 12, 2012.
