Dear Team Captain,
 
Team sports are a highlight of the state finals! We look forward to the basketball, softball, and volleyball competition this year.
 
Please read through this e-mail thoroughly for updates and registration information.
 
Registration Information
 
A registration e-mail was sent out to our e-mail list recently. If not on this list, we encourage you to register for our e-mails on our homepage at www.tnseniorolympics.com. In addition, entry forms will be mailed the week of March 7th to fall district participants and past state finals open sports participants.

Your team has two options for registering:  
 
Online registration is available at www.tnseniorolympicsonline.com.  Each team member must completely register with name, address, date of birth, payment etc. or you may do this for them. If you do allow players to go in and register for themselves please make them aware of your exact team name. You as captain need to click the "I am captain" button when registering. An online roster will come up and you will need to record the names and ages of your players. Your team will not be officially registered without a roster.   Credit and debit cards will be accepted. Our program is not set up for you to go in with changes to your roster after it has been submitted. If there are changes, please e-mail info@tnseniorolympics.com so that the roster can be updated.
 
Via mail : It helps us if team captains mail all team members' entry forms in together along with a roster. However, we know that at this time of year you may not see team members.  We want to work with you. If it is easier to allow your team members to mail their form straight to us, please make them aware of the exact team name.
 
Teams will not be officially registered without either an online or paper roster. We expect over 100 teams between the 3 team sports and it is very confusing for the staff to make sure all teams are in the proper age group and sport without a roster. Thanks so much for helping us out on all of these matters.

Deadlines
 
Please note the deadlines below. It helps our staff for registration to occur on time. Our challenge is getting all 2,000 athletes registered into all 19 sports and working through problems.   We realize your challenge as a team captain and appreciate you.
 
If you feel like you need more time, please e-mail tnseniorolympics@comcast.net to discuss the situation.  Also please remember that captains and coaches (even nonplaying coaches) must register. This entitles you to a shirt, medals, etc.
 
 
Early bird Deadline:             March 31, 2016
 
Final Deadline:                     April 22, 2016
 
After the final deadline date, there will be an additional $100 fee per player (plus entry fee), to add players to the roster of a team that exceeds the minimum to take the floor/field plus one. 
Absolutely NO new players regardless of circumstances may be added 10 days prior to the start of the Games.
 
 
Team Composition Rule
 
Remember that teams must comply with the team composition rule:
 
Three grand divisions are set up. These include West (the districts of Memphis, Northwest, and Southwest), Middle (the districts of Greater Nashville, South Central, and Upper Cumberland), and East (the districts of Chattanooga, Southeast, East, and First). Teams must be comprised of players from their division with one wild card allowed from any area (exception- volleyball is allowed three). For example, a team from Greater Nashville may pick up any players from South Central and/or Upper Cumberland and also one player from East or West. If unsure which counties comprise which districts please visit our website at www.tnseniorolympics.com
 
Teams 75+ will not have restrictions. Teams may be comprised of any player regardless of district.
 
Important Note: The Board of Directors would like for all exceptions to be determined by committees comprised of athletes. If you have an extraordinary request for an exemption to this rule, please e-mail tnseniorolympics@comcast.net. Team captains from the same sport but different age groups will be asked to serve on a committee to consider the request.
 
National Information
Our state finals serve as a qualifying site for the 2017 Nationals slated for June 2-15, 2017 in Birmingham, AL. The top THREE teams in each age group in basketball, softball, and volleyball will qualify. See www.nsga.com for more information.
