This fall athletes will have the opportunity to participate at one of our ten district events in order to participate in next summer's state finals. This is also a qualifying cycle for the 2017 Nationals.

Thus, the 2015 Districts qualify for the 2016 State Finals (athletes must PARTICIPATE in a district- all places advance). The 2016 State Finals qualify for the 2017 Nationals in Birmingham.

Deadlines are fast approaching. Our first deadline is August 8th for the South Central district.  Please click the link below for dates and deadlines. Entry forms that are available have also been posted at http://tnseniorolympics.com/find-your-district.html  Some districts will also be mailing these to past participants.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age group will I be in? What if my age changes from fall 2015 to summer 2016?

For the 2015 districts, age will be determined as of December 31, 2016.  For the 2016 state finals, age will be determined as of December 31, 2016.  This is to ensure that athletes are practicing and playing in the age group that they will be placed in at the summer 2016 state finals.  For example, an individual who turns 50 on April 1, 2016 will play in the 50-54 division in the fall 2015 districts although he or she is 49 at the time.

Athletes must be 50 years old by December 31 of 2016 year to compete in the 2016 state finals.

Will all sports require qualification at a district?

No. We plan to keep the following sports "open": archery, cycling, the 5K and 10K road races, 5K Racewalk, racquetball, triple jump, pole vault, and the power and fitness walk. These sports do not require district participation. In addition, if your district does not offer a sport is it considered open. This list is subject to change as our board will discuss this further at our retreat in November.

In addition, last year our doubles sports rule was revised to state that if an athlete participates in one event within their doubles sport (singles, doubles, or mixed) then that athlete may participate in all three at state.  Doubles sports include badminton, bowling, pickleball, shuffleboard, table tennis, and tennis.

In golf, district participants will get first chance to register before opening registration up to other golfers. Our golf state finals are scheduled for June 13th and 14th 2016 at Heatherhurst Golf Club's Crag Course in Fairfield Glade.

I cannot make the date for my district. What can I do?

Please remember that you may participate in any one of the ten districts.

Please click the link to this chart which details dates and sports offered at all districts.
