HOW DO I REGISTER?  You have two options for registering.

1.  Online registration:

Online registration is available at www.tnseniorolympicsonline.com

In an effort to make Online Registration proceed smoothly, PLEASE have the following information on hand.

  1. A Mastercard, Visa, or Discover card.
  2. Doubles players will need your doubles partner's name and date of birth.
  3. Team captains must have the names and ages of players ready.
  4. Your district place (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th) and time in swimming and track. If you do not know your exact time please place an approximate time. This is used for placement in heats if needed.

2.  OR via mail :

Mail the entry form insert and check to the address listed on the entry form. There is a $5 discount for providing an e-mail address so that confirmation letters and newsletters can be e-mailed. If not, you may pay the full fee and this information will be mailed to you in May.

Team captains please note: Teams will not be officially registered without either an online or paper roster. We expect over 100 teams between the 3 team sports and it is very confusing for the staff to make sure all teams are in the proper age group and sport without a roster. Thanks so much for helping us out on all of these matters. You will be receiving a separate e-mail soon with additional details.

Golf
The state finals golf tournament has been set for Tuesday, May 12 at the Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, TN.

Due to requests, we will be trying a one day 18 -hole format. It's a great year to try something new.

We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with the Tennessee Golf Association beginning in 2016. Matthew Vanderpool, executive director, will be on hand during our luncheon after the tournament on May 12 to discuss this and answer questions. We would love a large turnout of our golfers on May 12 as to receive your input and ideas.

Schedule and venue changes from last year include:

Pickleball

The order of events has been changed. Doubles will be played Tuesday, June 23; Mixed Doubles on Wednesday, June 24; and Singles on Thursday, June 25.

Road Races

The 5K road race start will be at another location due to heavy traffic on Heritage Way. This is being analyzed and a location will be announced in future communications.

NEW - 5K Race Walk

A 5K race walk has been added to the slate of events.  This will occur during the 5K road race on Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 a.m.  Walkers will be on the honor system.

Other Registration Information

Eligibility

  • Athletes who participated in a fall 2014 Tennessee Senior Olympics district event or the 2015 Chattanooga district are eligible for the state finals.
  • Athletes may only enter those exact sports or events that were played at the district. However, please note this NEW RULE recently passed by our board:

Athletes who participated in ONE event (i.e. singles, mixed, or doubles) within badminton, pickleball, table tennis, tennis, and shuffleboard may sign up for all three events if interested. The board realizes that especially with doubles sports and a long time frame between district and state that it may be difficult to secure partners at the time of the district. With these sports being so popular and spanning more than one day at many districts the board is also aware that work commitments and other obligations may make it difficult to play all three events. Thus the flexibility written into the new rule.

  • OPEN SPORTS at the state finals do not require district participation: Archery, Cycling (5K/20K), Power Walk, Racquetball, Road Races (5K/10K), Pole Vault, and Triple Jump as well as any sport not offered at your district.
  • New Participant Rule

An athlete who has never participated at any level of the Tennessee Senior Olympics system but who desires to participate in the state finals will be granted:

          a.  A one- time only exception from qualifying in district competition.

           b.  This will require payment of all state finals fees plus a district

processing fee of $30 payable to the district.

c.  This does not apply to the state finals open sports. An athlete may    register directly for these sports.

TSO District Wavier Form

  • Hardship Cases

If an athlete missed his or her district competition for a valid reason (medical, family emergency etc) the board may grant an exception. Please fill out and return a hardship form:
