1. What age group will I be in? What if my age changes from fall 2014 to summer 2015?
For the 2014 districts, age will be determined as of December 31, 2015. For the 2015 state finals, age will be determined as of December 31, 2015. This is to ensure that athletes are practicing and playing in the age group that they will be placed in at the summer 2015 state finals. For example, an individual who turns 50 on April 1, 2015 will play in the 50-54 division in the fall 2014 districts although he or she is 49 at the time.
Athletes must be 50 years old by December 31 of 2015 year to compete in the 2015 state finals.
2. Will all sports require qualification at a district?
No. We plan to keep the following sports "open": archery, cycling, the 5K and 10K road race, racquetball, and the power and fitness walk. These sports do not require district participation. In addition, if your district does not offer a sport is it considered open.
3. I cannot make the date for my district. What can I do?
Please remember that you may participate in any one of the ten districts. Please click the link to this chart which details dates and sports offered at all districts.
