TENNESSEE SENIOR OLYMPICS
June 17, 2013

All athletes and subscribers to our e-mail list are receiving this state finals newsletter..
We know that many of you enjoy keeping up with the TN Senior Olympics at this time of year even if you will not be in attendance.

We do have volunteer opportunities available if you would like to take part!

The State Finals begin this Friday! We are excited to welcome approximately 1,500 athletes to Franklin. It will be a fantastic week of competition and time spent with old and new friends.

A newsletter was mailed to you in May with an abundance of information, a general schedule, and directions. If you have misplaced your copy please click this link:

To check team brackets, tennis brackets, a field event rotation, golf foursomes, starting times and much more click here:

Some starting times have been turned in. Starting times per age group for the rest of the bracketed sports will be posted as we receive brackets back from sports chairs. Not all groups can start at the posted starting time so please check these the day prior to your competition. These brackets will also be posted at BGA.

Please note that all team captains were e-mailed letters regarding competition. Players may be interested in viewing these letters from this link http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs177/1103364065455/archive/1112447306380.html

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are still in need of volunteers. At the present time, many events simply won't have the manpower needed to score, time, measure, or in general keep things running. If you have time or days in between events please consider volunteering! Your fellow athletes will appreciate you so much. Click this link to view where help is still needed:

SWIMMERS

In order to gain recognition for our event from United States Masters Swimming (USMS) they are now requiring that swimmers show their USMS membership cards in order for us to record membership numbers. A copy of your card would be even more helpful for the swimming staff. Cards are necessary for those who break top 10 times.

GOLFERS

Golf sponsor Del Webb at Lake Providence will be providing a wonderful lunch for you at their clubhouse after the first day of golf. Directions will be available when you register at the golf course. Remember that registration will occur at Pine Creek Golf Course in Mt. Juliet where you will receive your TSO T-shirt and other items.

LONG JUMPERS, HIGH JUMPERS, AND POLE VAULTERS

Remember that these events will be Friday, June 21st at Battle Ground Academy starting at 4:00pm. This is a change from years' past. The field event rotation is posted on our website.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

REGISTRATION QUESTIONS:

1)    Must I register before my event starts? No. However, you must check-in and register sometime before you leave town or your results will be nullified. This protects the integrity of our event.

2) Do I have to go to Battle Ground Academy? Can someone bring my packet and T-shirt to my venue? No. With over 1,500 athletes in multiple events and over 10 venues this is an impossibility for staff and volunteers to manage. Thank you for your understanding.

3) Can someone else register for me?

Unfortunately not. We need to check the ID of the actual athlete to make sure it is the same person.
