Greetings!
" Never mind searching for the person you are.
Search for the person you aspire to be."
- Robert Brault
You may hear others say, "that's just the way I am." You may even occasionally hear yourself saying, "that's just who I am." It can happen.
Understanding your personal preferences and strengths is paramount in your personal development. Yet, "who you are" may not be getting you what you want. Resignation to our personal baseline can be a barrier unto itself.
We have the opportunity to continually gain insight into ourselves, our strengths and our areas for improvement. As important as it is to embrace and capitalize on our strengths, it is important to pause, take note of personal barriers, and conscientiously move toward continual improvement.
Just for today, ask yourself:
How do I feel when I say "just the way I am?"
Is "just the way I am" an excuse for fear of growing?
What may be the impact of "just the way I am?"
Thank you for your connection!
Lisa
