Leggings/ Jeggings:

 

Leggings and Jeggings do not meet Vision Charter School Dress Code Policy. Students are more than welcome to wear jeggings/leggings under a knee length dress or under shorts that reach to the top of the knee. Jeggings are the new name brand attempt to put a pocket and zipper on leggings. J These are great for the weekend; however, will not be allowed at school M-F.

 

Dress Code Policy Reminders:

 

:SLACKS: Solid color -no "blue jeans", no stretch pants, athletic pants, or sweat pants.

Clothing must not be overly tight or bagging, or revealing in any way.

**All students will resolve the dress code violation prior to returning to class. Dress code violations will result in the following: 1st offense: Warning, 2nd offense: Detention/Community Service, 3rd offense: Defiance Referral *See Discipline Policy for continued offenses of defiance.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GAME NIGHT:

ASB Student Government is hosting a Middle School Game Night on Friday, March 6th from 7:30-9:30PM. There will be tables set up with board games and the movie BIG HERO 6 will be shown. Admission is $5.  Come hang out with all your friends! 
CHILI FEED: The Senior Class is having a Chili Feed and Silent Auction on March 19, 2015 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Vision Charter School Gym. The pre -order price is $16 per family of 4 or $4 per person.  The price at the door is $18 for a family of 4 or $5 a person. Pre-order forms went out with students this week. The pre-order deadline has been extended to March 10th.  

CO-ED INTRAMURAL VOLLEYBALL

VCS is offering a four week Intramural Volleyball League!!

When:  March 16 - April 17    Time:  3:15 - 4:30pm, Mon.-Thu.  Who:  7th - 12th grade

Fee:  $10 (includes a game t-shirt)

Teams will be formed during the first week.  Practices and Games run Monday through Thursday.   There will not be any practices or games during Spring Break, March 23 - 27.  We will conclude the season with a Jamboree. 

If you are interested you may pick up your permission/waiver form from the office.  On March 16, bring your fee and signed form/s to practice.  You will not be able to participate until those are turned in.

 

 

 

 

High School Spring Play:
Are you SHERLOCKED?  Well come see Sherlock like you've never seen him before!  Holmes and Watson are in the Deep South trying to solve the mystery of The Hound of the Clackervilles.  Two shows, both on Saturday the 14th of March:  matinee at 2:00 and an evening performance at 7:00.  Tickets are available at the door, $5 individuals and $10 for families.  Southern treats will be available at intermission to satisfy your sweet tooth!

 

SIBLINGS IN THE LOTTERY:

Please remember that you must turn in an application for the lottery by March 12, 2015 for any incoming kindergarten siblings. 


 

Vision Charter School is accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year!

 

Vision Charter School will hold its lottery for enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 in the secondary technology room.

Applications may be found at visioncharter.net under enrollment/lottery. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 12, 2015 and if hand delivered, no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015. Applications received after March 13 at 4:00 p.m. will be placed into the pool for the following year and at the bottom of the wait list for each grade level.

Vision Charter School offers students a small and safe school environment. Our accelerated and advanced curriculum ensures every class is taught to the highest standards. The school emphasizes character and leadership development, arts and science instruction, gifted and talented curriculum for all students, and music training. Qualifying high school students at VCS are offered dual credit college classes. Eligible students are able to graduate from high school with a two year Associate of Arts from CWI for half the cost. Piano Lab Time

March 9-13 will be the final piano lab week of this school year!  All kindergarten through fifth grade students will spend time on the pianos in their two music classes during that week.  If a student takes private lessons, he/she may bring lesson books to school and spend the time practicing for lessons while using headphones.  The days and classes with music on those days are listed below:

DRIVER'S ED:

 

In partnership with the Caldwell School District, we are pleased to offer a summer Driver Education course. Registration for this class will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 5:00pm in the Caldwell High School food court area. This course will be held June 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015. The first class will be held June 1st. This class will be held at THOMAS JEFFERSON CHARTER SCHOOL Monday through Friday, from 8:00am-9:30am. Students will receive 30 hours of classroom instruction plus 30 hours of driving instruction. Each student will be contacted by a driving instructor to schedule the driving portion of this course. The cost for the course is $180.00, with a $60 deposit due at the time of registration. In addition to the deposit, students MUST have their driver's permit receipt, issued by the DMV, in order to register for the course. Students must be 14 ½ years old on or before the day they purchase the driver's permit. A flyer with complete details about this course is available in the VCS Secondary office. Students who registered for the winter course but were not able to get a spot will be given registration priority for the summer course. CARNIVAL COMING!!!!!!

May 1st from 4-7:30 p.m. at Vision Charter School! Please contact Stacy Nelson at stacynelson0529@gmail.com if you would like to help work on the food, decorations, carnival games, or auction.

 

Parents and students will be able to stop in the classrooms to see the science fair projects from 4-6 p.m. and the carnival activities and food will be going from 4-7:30 p.m. continuously. I hope you will all plan on coming to this wonderful whole family evening.

May 23: Graduation practice at 10 a.m. and the ceremony will start at 7 p.m. in the Nampa Civic Center auditorium.
