CANNED FOOD DRIVE- Help Families struggling this winter!
Students may bring unexpired, non-perishable items to their homeroom. Classroom teachers will continue to collect items until, Thursday November 20, 2014. Join with the whole school in making a difference in the lives of families this Thanksgiving season!!! The spirit of giving and community service is such an amazing gift to share with our children as we are thankful for the abundance that we have and willingly share this gift with others less fortunate.

Student Academic Progress:

If you have questions regarding your child's academic progress, please feel free to email teachers with specific questions. 3rd -12th grade parents are encouraged to use the Parent Portal to gain a deeper understanding of your child's specific progress on assignments, tests, and quizzes in addition to viewing teacher comments and/or missing assignments. If you are not signed up for Parent Portal, please contact Mrs. Bowers at amybowers@visioncsd.org. She will gladly send you the specific information on registering for the Parent Portal. K-5th grade teachers will send reports cards home on Monday. Teachers will email parents with specific concerns or suggestions for improvement if a scheduled conference was missed due to the snow and ice.

SCHOOL CLOSURES/ SNOW DAYS:

IN THE EVENT OF SCHOOL CLOSURE OR EMERGENCY CLOSURE: The most accurate updated information can be found on our Facebook page and our website at visioncharterschool.net. We will also send out updates via this newsletter. If you would like to receive our newsletters, you may sign up on our website.

You may also check updates on KTVB channel 7 and KBOI channel 2.

We will send school closure information through our automated emergency contact program. Every parent should have received a text, phone call, and email regarding the PT conferences being canceled on Friday. If you did not receive this notification, please email me at wendyroldenkamp@visioncsd.org so that we can get that remedied immediately.

We are aware that many families are traveling a long distance daily to get to VCS. In the event of snow and ice, we prefer that you and your family come late to school and be safe rather than rush to avoid a tardy and potentially encounter dangerous traffic situations. Therefore, we will not count your child absent as long as they are at school NO LATER than 10 a.m. daily during harsh weather conditions. Please notify the attendance clerk when signing in that the tardy was due to road conditions. Tardies will always be excused during bad weather days. This grace period only applies on bad weather days. Your safety is our first priority! (Your child will still be responsible to make up missed work from any class per the attendance policy.)
