VCS HS ROBOTICS WIN BIG!

Vision Charter's FTC Robotics Team #2997 - Beauty Bot and The Beasts brought home two coveted awards from the February 15th state championship in Moscow, Idaho!

Think Award - Given to the team that best reflects the "journey" the team took as they experienced the engineering design process during the build season. The engineering section of the notebook is the key reference for judges to help identify the most deserving team. Journal entries of interest to judges for this award will include those describing the underlying science and mathematics of the robot design and game strategies, the designs, re-designs, successes, and those 'interesting moments' when things weren't going as planned.

2nd Place Inspire Award - Given to the team that truly embodied the 'challenge' of the FTC program. The team that receives this award is chosen by the judges as having best represented a 'role-model' FTC Team. This team is a top contender for all other judging categories and is a strong competitor on the field.

The 2nd Place Inspire Award means our team moves on to the FTC West Super-Regional Tournament in Sacramento, CA on March 20th-22nd.

This team is coached by Jeff Olson and Brad Hunt. Team members include Sam C., Cade P., Isaiah L., Owen N., Hannah S., Greyson H., Shannon G., Makennah P., Sam H., Andrew V., Elijah B., Michael E.,  and Brian C.

Can you help send these awesome kids to California?

SCHOOL CLOSURES/ SNOW DAYS:

IN THE EVENT OF SCHOOL CLOSURE OR EMERGENCY CLOSURE: The most accurate updated information can be found on our Facebook page and our website at visioncharterschool.net.  We will also send out updates via this newsletter. If you would like to receive our newsletters, you may sign up on our website.

You may also check updates on KTVB channel 7, KBOI channel 2, KIVI/KSAW channel 6 and 9.

We are aware that many families are traveling a long distance daily to get to VCS.  In the event of snow and ice, we prefer that you and your family come late to school and be safe rather than rush to avoid a tardy and potentially encounter dangerous traffic situations. Therefore, we will not count your child absent as long as they are at school NO LATER than 10 a.m. daily during harsh weather conditions. Please notify the attendance clerk when signing in that the tardy was due to road conditions.  Tardies will always be excused during bad weather days. This grace period only applies on bad weather days.  Your safety is our first priority!  (Your child will still be responsible to make up missed work from any class per the attendance policy.)
