Exemptions

Idaho law allows a parent/guardian to claim an exemption from immunization requirements for their child for medical, religious, or personal reasons.  All exemptions must be documented on the official State of Idaho form provided by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Immunization Program.  A medical exemption requires the signature of a licensed physician and certification that the child has a medical condition which prevents him or her from receiving required vaccinations.  The law does not allow parents/guardians to claim an exemption because the shot record is lost or incomplete, or because it is too much trouble to contact the physician or clinic and obtain a copy.

If you have any questions regarding these immunizations requirements, please contact Sheree Knapp at 208-455-9220 or email at shereeknapp@visioncsd.org.

LIBERAL ARTS DEGREE/ COLLEGE PREREQUISITES/EARLY COMPLETERS:

Vision Charter School is excited to announce our collaboration with the College of Western Idaho to offer a Liberal Arts Associate degree. This degree may be completed concurrently with Idaho State High School graduation requirements. Per CWI, a Liberal Arts AA degree allows students to work specifically toward an intended vocation or to meet requirements of a variety of transfer institutions. The degree is a combination of core coursework and electives totaling 64 credits. To maximize cost-saving, it is encouraged that those interested in the AA program look into aligning their HS coursework to qualify for the state early completer requirements, allowing for state-paid dual credits in their Senior year. More information about the program and the state early completer program will be presented at the MS/HS open house on August 16. Presentations with time for Q&A will be offered at 3:30, 4:15; 5; 5:45; and 6:30.

Dual credit requirements have been modified in an effort to align with CWI standards:

Freshmen: must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA with Counselor recommendation

Sophomore- Seniors: must meet CWI Dual Credit requirements (2.5 GPA and counselor recommendation)
