Wears Valley Ranch exists to promote the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical development of children in need of a stronger family support system through Christ-centered home settings.
Wood Shavings

My wonderful assistant Becky Williamson recently remarked, "Pastor Wood, I feel as if you are about to be shot from a sling shot." Looking at my travel schedule for the coming months, it is a pretty good description. I am visiting major cities across the country, training hundreds of pastors to train others in My Hope with Billy Graham. I can honestly say that it is thrilling to see the excitement of Church leaders who understand the potential impact of mobilized believers sharing their faith with friends and family, with neighbors and coworkers. Churches large or small, rich or poor, rural, urban, young and old, in English or other languages are finding that this strategy works. My Hope will be successful wherever believers prayerfully reach out to share their faith, because the Gospel is the power of God for the salvation of those who believe. If you haven't already done so, please visit www.MyHopeWithBillyGraham.org and become a part of this movement!

So what is happening meanwhile back at the Ranch? A fabulous team of committed believers are showing Christ's love to a dear group of children who are glad to be here. A new couple, Russell and Lauran Purvis are beginning their duties as houseparents at Oak Rise boys home. In addition to teaching devotions when I am here, in recent weeks I have met with several students who have been here for years and with prospective new students. While some applicants were not accepted, several new children have been admitted, and after devotions they have come to give hugs. Today, I received a note from a precious young fellow who wrote simply, "Thank you Pastor Wood for letting me come to the ranch because you did not have to and I love you."

I am well aware that I am being thanked because of the generosity and prayers of hundreds of folks like you who give sacrificially so that I can say "yes" to children in need. Wears Valley Ranch exists because God cares about these children. He has promised to bless your obedience in providing a place for those who cannot pay you back (Lk 14:12-14). This is a place of miracles. We see amazing answers to prayer, as we depend on God.

I am counting on you to join with us in those prayers. The challenges are enormous, and only the Lord can do what is needed. Amazingly, He chooses to work through people. Those who pray and those who give are His instruments. Thank you! And may God bless you richly!
