Ten Reasons Why Jesus is Returning Soon!

NEW DVD
by Eric Barger

Eric refers to this as one of the most important messages in his 31+ years of ministry. Fulfilled Bible prophecy is the focus here, in particular the extraordinary volume of direct prophetic fulfillments in modern times.

Consider that 2500 years ago the men of the tribe of Issachar knew the signs around them and how to respond (I Chronicles 12:32). Stressing the importance of understanding the times, Jesus Himself chastised the Jewish leaders for an ignorance of the signs in their day (Matthew 16:1-3).

Now, the voluminous nature of the signs indicate that the return of Jesus, our "Blessed Hope," is surely just ahead! Believers cannot afford ignorance during these exciting days. Do you know the signs?

The Cross in the Shadow of the Crescent
by Dr. Erwin Lutzer

Islam is on the rise all over the West, including America. In this compelling new book, bestselling author Erwin Lutzer urges Christians to see this as both an opportunity to share the gospel and a reason for concern.

We have now reached a tipping point--the spread of Islam is rapidly altering the way we live. These changes are cause for alarm, for they endanger our freedoms of speech and religion.

Eric Barger, Joe Schimmel, Jill Martin Riche speak out...

Though it does not release in theaters in the United States until next Friday (March 28), there has been much written about Darren Aronofsky's film "Noah" starring Russell Crowe. Opinions about this soon-to-be-blockbuster are all over the map in both the Christian and secular worlds. For Christians, I believe that our position should be a no-brainier - but I said the same thing about Christians and our response to the Harry Potter novels/movies 15 years ago. My observations were met back then with general disdain and a chorus of "I don't see anything wrong with it!" or "It's just fantasy!" Today, as many of you understand, discernment seems sadly to be less a factor in the Church than it was when Harry Potter arrived on the scene. Understanding this fact, it is really no wonder that Christians - including many prominent leaders - are falling all over themselves to acquire "Noah" tickets.

I will address and outline some of my concerns about the unbiblical nature of this, Hollywood's latest attempt to utilize a biblical theme, in a few days. But in the mean time, listed here are some resources to help guide you through the murky waters concerning this upcoming film. Though I am not necessarily calling for a boycott of the movie, I do think that if we are to venture into the theater to see it we should go in with our eyes and Bibles wide open. Swept up in the charismatic actors and special effects, many movie-goers will not realize that besides an embellished, dark rewrite of this important Old Testament patriarch, there are several unseemly agendas present in Hollywood's "Noah." I hope that if you've been swayed to embrace the film that you'll carefully examine the research I've linked here below and take to heart the research and insight that several of us are offering concerning the movie.

What is the secular world stating about Darren Aronofsky's "Noah?"

Here's an excerpt from reviewer Todd McCarthy posted in The Hollywood Reporter on March 20.

"Darren Aronofsky wrestles one of scripture's most primal stories to the ground and extracts something vital and audacious, while also pushing some aggressive environmentalism, in Noah. Whereas for a century most Hollywood filmmakers have tread carefully and respectfully when tackling biblical topics in big-budget epics aimed at a mass audience, Aronofsky has been daring, digging deep to develop a bold interpretation of a tale which, in the original, offers a lot of room for speculation and invention. The narrative of the global flood that wiped out almost all earthly life is the original disaster story, one that's embraced by most of the major world religions, which means that conservative and literal-minded elements of all faiths who make it their business to be offended by untraditional renditions of holy texts will find plenty to fulminate about here. Already banned in some Middle Eastern countries, Noah will rile some for the complete omission of the name 'God' from the dialogue, others for its numerous dramatic fabrications and still more for its heavy-handed ecological doomsday messages, which unmistakably mark it as a product of its time. (Eric's note: Read that sentence again folks. The name of God is missing from the film and the even those in the secular world understand that the crux of this movie is based in hyper-environmentalism. How can Christians miss or dismiss this?) But whether you buy these elements or not, this is still an arresting piece of filmmaking that has a shot at capturing a large international audience both for its fantasy-style spectacle and its fresh look at an elemental Bible story most often presented as a kiddie yarn."

Reviewer Todd McCarthy goes on to say:

"The director/co-writer serves notice of his revisionism right away, mutating the opening line of Genesis into, 'In the beginning there was nothing.' (Eric's Note:
In the Bible's ark story, God does most of the talking, whereas here, Noah does, at one point raging at the silent one he only calls the Creator, 'Why do you not answer me?' This Noah, who receives his instructions about what to do from disturbing, quasi-hallucinatory visions, is presented as the last good man on Earth, the chosen one who will preserve the world's life forms along with his immediate family while the wicked will be swept away, forcing humanity to make a fresh start." (Eric's Note: "disturbing, quasi-hallucinatory visions"... not only that, but blatant necromancy [Deut. 18:9-13] is written into the story as Noah is communicated to by his deceased grandfather, Methuselah played by Anthony Hopkins.)

Eric's Note: One question I am going to explore in my later article is: Why are some Christian leaders falling all over themselves to promote this film? Is it ignorance of or plain disregard for Scripture? Is it the affects undiscerning spirit of the age we live in today? Or is it something more? Find out my thoughts in an email update shortly.

The Green Agenda Sinks Noah
Jan Markell's guest is Dr. Cal Beisner from the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, an organization telling the truth about the environmental war. The planet may be dying but God is the scientist behind it, not man. It is outlined in Revelation that we will get a new Heaven and Earth. They also discuss the forthcoming film "Noah" and the abomination it is, although some Christians support it. They discuss the "religion" environmentalism has become and it is rooted in paganism, yet "evangelicals" have adopted this as their favorite topic in the last 20 years. Then, Jan, Eric Barger, and Jill Martin Rische talk about the various evangelical outfits that have adopted a totally green agenda. This is the essence of end-time delusion.
