"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." ~Albert Einstein
Hope you're having a miraculous day!

"The Dark Side"
Before I get dark, a few things...
1. I just posted a new blog (this is NOT my blog, this is my Miraculous Life email Bulletin) on the importance of getting good, again, at recognizing how kick ass you are.
Check it out here:
"Cool With Your Greatness"
2. My book, Creating Your Dream: Confidently Stepping Into Your Own Brilliance, is now available in audio form! Just click the title above, or HERE to get yourself a digital copy. 3. And, finally, I want to welcome all the new Miraculous Life followers, including my new friends from SPLUNK who brought me in last week to deliver the ALL IN! Workshop beachfront on Monterrey Bay! This is what THAT looked like... Recently I posted something on my Facebook Page (click that!) from Carl Jung, my favorite Psychiatrist in history (which isn't saying much since I don't like too many shrinks - they want to treat everything as pathological and medicate us all - but not CARL!). This is what I posted... So let's break that down into simple English. We'll start at the end and work back. Enlightenment = knowing how to lighten up; knowing how to choose peace amidst chaos; having no internal struggle; loving what is. One becomes enlightened by "making the darkness conscious." What's he mean by that? The darkness? That can sound pretty ominous. Like a horror movie or something. But it isn't. In fact, it's just the opposite. Carl used to always refer to the unconscious part of the mind as the shadow. But it isn't eerie. It's no more eerie than the dark side of the moon. See, our moon is in what's called "synchronous orbit", which means the same side is always facing the earth. It isn't rotating around on an axis like we are. It's fixed so that we are always looking at the same side of it from where we stand on the planet. We can't see the other side of it from here. We call that "the dark side." But it isn't like there are goblins and ghouls over there causing mayhem. It's simply in the shadow, obstructed by the sunlight. In similar fashion, our unconscious mind is in the shadow of consciousness. In the dark. Awaiting to have the light of consciousness shined upon it. And that occurs through the awakening process. Growth. Personal development. I even refer to it as Mental Toughness Training in my work. It's really all the same. Learning how to free yourself from the influences of the past that would have you suffer or struggle or worry or wait for what you want or settle for less. Now, finally, he started it off with the comment that you can't become conscious without pain. Phew. You're killing me here, Carl. Again, sounds like a pain in the ass. But it isn't. One of my favorite mantras is: "Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional." What's the diff? pain is simply a sensation. in this case an emotional sensation just like warmth or cold or a pinch or an itch. Pain happens to be an uncomfortable sensation, but it isn't bad - unless you judge it, or interpret it as bad. THEN it becomes suffering. So the awakening process, enlightenment, getting mentally tough, freeing your mind from conditioning...it inevitably involves incorporating practices into your life that are uncomfortable. Exactly like when you want to get into amazing physical condition. You do exercises that feel uncomfortable. But you can train yourself to fall in love with them - literally, especially when you're clear on the value these uncomfortable exercises, or disciplines, are bringing you. So, get your enlightenment on! Shine some light on the dark side! Create Miracles! Chris p.s. Speaking of getting into amazing physical condition, I want to give a plug. If you've been on this list long, you know that I have only EVER done that maybe twice in however many years I've been writing these. Maybe twice. So for me to feel compelled to do so matters. That said, my shout out goes to my Physical Trainer, Billy Woodmansee, at Pro Edge Performance Training. He's coached me over the last 7 months and guided my transformation from fat to shredded. I can proudly say that I am in the best shape of my life and Billy took that decision I made to heart. My mission became his mission. He's as good as they get. If you're looking for a trainer like that, and you're in the Phoenix area, I couldn't recommend him more highly!
