Motorists Mutual Insurance Company has announced the signing of a definitive agreement to purchase the stock of Consumers Insurance USA, based in Murfreesboro, TN.  Under terms of the agreement, which is subject to regulatory approval by Tennessee and Ohio regulators, Consumers Insurance will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Motorists Mutual.  Consumers Insurance markets niche-oriented products, including personal auto, commercial auto and garage policies through independent insurance agencies and operates in seven states throughout the South and Midwest.  Motorists Mutual Insurance Company is an affiliate of The Motorists Insurance Group, which markets insurance solutions across the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast regions.  Sherman & Company served as financial advisor to Consumers Insurance.
