AF key Academic Foundation

The Academic Foundation is excited to share that we have funded one more year of Family Connection! All students and parents can access this program to track graduation progress, plan for college, build a resume and more. If you don't already have an account, contact Lauren Spinka in College Resource. In March we also approved grants for band instruments and cases, a washer and dryer for the TMH classes, and much more. Check our website for details.

Parents received some great tips about the college application process at our meeting last week. If you couldn't attend or left without the handout, visit the Independent Educational Consultants Association's website to access their list, Top 12 Strengths and Experiences Colleges Look for in High School Students, as well as other resources. Our next meeting is April 14th at 9:15 am. Please plan to join us!

Faculty Honor Roll
The Academic Foundation's Faculty Honor Roll program is a perfect way to let any member of Plant's faculty and staff know that he or she made a difference for your student. Maybe it's a favorite teacher, a coach who inspired your student to try harder, or an administrator who greets your student with a smile each morning. Whoever it is, consider letting them know they made an impact with Faculty Honor Roll. A single donation, in any amount, enables you to send personal notes of thanks to as many staff members as you wish. In addition, they will be informed you made a donation to AF in their honor. The donations will be used to fund faculty grant requests that enhance education for all Plant students.

You should have received a Faculty Honor brochure in the mail recently which includes complete information. You can also visit our website to learn more and to download a form. Families who donate by May 1st will be acknowledged in the spring awards ceremony program. If you have any questions, please email Nelson Guagliardo or Lanore Wadsworth.
