BCSP is Accepting Nominations for its Board of Directors
|
Dear Colleague,
The Board of Certified Safety Professionals is actively seeking nominations from individuals who wish to be members of the BCSP Board of Directors. In the election process, a primary goal for BCSP is to ensure that a wide diversity of professionals in safety, health and environmental (SH&E) practices participate in the governance of BCSP, providing representation reflecting the geography, industries, areas of specialization, and other characteristics of the profession. Holding additional certifications is also encouraged.
Other qualifications include being free of potential conflicts of interest, ability to comply with the BCSP Fiduciary Policy, a knowledge of the BCSP Bylaws, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and breadth of experience in SH&E practice. BCSP Directors cannot participate in developing or conducting training courses specifically intended to prepare people for any BCSP examinations. Directors typically devote an average of 2 to 4 hours per week to BCSP matters and attend semi-annual meetings to complete official BCSP business.
Please email BoardNomination@bcsp.org or mail BCSP your resume and cover letter to the Nominating and Board Development Committee for the election process. The nominating deadline is July 1, 2013. The election will occur prior to the November 2013 BCSP Board meeting.
